Murano Glass

Murano block glass originates from the Island of Murano near the city of Venice during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. This style of glassware is usually attributed to Mandruzzato, although other manufacturers have made similar items, including Oball, Campanella and Nason. Block glass is known for its stunning combinations of colour and shape resulting in beautiful designs fitting of any mid century home. Layers of coloured glass encased in an angular block of clear glass is known as the renowned Venetian Sommerso technique.
